Commissions

If you appreciate my work and are considering me for commission work I would like to take this opportunity to thank you. I offer two levels, or quality of commission paint service. Here is some information to help you decide. When requesting a quote, please be as specific as possible with any questions and details for the project.

Level 1: "Professional"

Heavy attention is spent on the fine details of the piece. Models will hold excellent detail and will look very nice up close and from across the battlefield. Several layers of shading will be applied. Some inking and varnishing will be applied. Your piece will be based and flocked to your liking. All in all you will be getting a very nice looking piece for a reasonable price. Take a look at the gallery here.

Level 2: "Master"

Meticulous attention paid to detail (eyes, face, hair, claws, feathers, bolts, scales, gems, armor, basically every part of the model). Many layers of shading will be applied. Freehand work will be added where needed, however more intricate freehand work can be added if you wish, for a small fee, more information is available below. Your piece will be inked and varnished accordingly, based and flocked to your liking. You will have an excellent piece that you can be proud to show off from all angles during battle or as a display piece. Some examples of my work can be found here.

All prices are in USD.

Command units are the focal point of your unit, and therefore I feel they should look their best. More time will be spent on command units. Command units are $2-$5 more per model, depending on the size of the model. If you do NOT want this option, please let me know prior to the start of the project.

Characters, Lords, Heroes, and HQ models are always done at the "best" of my abilities and start at $25 and up. Price varies due to sizes and complexity of the model. Simply let me know what model you would like painted, and I will inform you of the cost. A display case is a great way to show off those characters!

Full battalion painting starts at $450.00. Again, just let me know what you would like painted, and I will provide you with a quote.

Freehand Work

You also have the option to add freehand work to any model/models you wish. (Tattoos, chapter logos, etc.) Cost of course, will vary depending on the work desired. Inform me of what you would like done and I will work with you on any ideas and thoughts you might have.

If you have models that are already painted and are looking to get some freehand work done, simply email me with any details and pictures. I will promptly get back to you regarding the project details.

How it works

All details will be worked out prior to any commitment being made! If you are considering me for commission work, simply E-mail me a detailed description of what you would like done. The more detailed you are with what you would like the more precise my quote will be. Feel free to throw around any and all ideas for the project. There is no obligation at this time, so feel free to ask for a quote or send an email regarding any project questions. This may be the most "difficult" part of the process deciding how you want the project to turn out. Please allow 1-3 days for me to respond to your email.

Upon arrival of the project I will contact you and get all the information I will need to start. For example; color schemes, basing options, or anything else you may want done. We will also discuss a time frame of when I think the project can be started and when it will be completed.

Send me the models yourself, money to buy them or you can make a PAYPAL deposit to me and I will purchase the models. I live a short distance from the Chicagoland GW Battle Bunker, so I have easy access to most items.

Painting and Assembly

A small charge for assembly, gluing, and priming will be added for models that need so. I will notify you of the cost of this prior to the start of the project. Frequent updates will be sent to you throughout the project. This will allow you to inform me of any changes or extras you may want done. Remember, you are the customer and it is my duty to please you. Feel free to tell me if you want something done differently. If you already have painted miniatures and want that work matched, I can accommodate this need. Simply attach pictures in an email or you can mail a sample model(s) along with your order. Take a look at my "matched work" gallery here.

All models are primed with Duplicolor Brite Touch primer and are finished with multiple layers of Testors Dull Cote spray to ensure against chipping over time. If you do NOT want this, or would like an alternative finish, please inform me.

Basing

For level 1 and level 2 orders, your models will be flocked and based. Prior to the start of the project please let me know exactly what kind of basing/flocking you desire. If you have a specific theme you would like to achieve just let me know and I can work with you on this. If a custom base for your models is desired just run the idea by me and I can inform you of the feasibility and of course, a quote of the cost. I have made a few custom bases in my time so feel free to run any ideas by me. I’m always willing to try something new out. If you already have models based to your liking, feel free to send one out with the project as an example. If you have your own bases you would like to be used feel free to send them out with the project.

Turnaround

You can expect your models to be finished and back in your hands in about two to six weeks. Smaller projects, of course, can be done in a more reasonable time frame. Orders of 1 – 5 models are usually done and back to you in about a week from the start of the project. I often have more than one commission job going on at a time so your patience is always appreciated. If you have an upcoming tournament or deadline and need your models at a certain time, please let me know prior to the start of the project. Frequent emails will be sent to you updating you on the progress. If any complications do occur, I will email you. You can always email me with any questions or concerns. You are the customer; please do NOT feel like you are being a nuisance!

Payment and Shipping Information

On all orders I do ask for at least half of the payment up front. This is just a security measure that I must take. You can also pay in full if you wish, you just might get your models back a little bit quicker this way.

I accept PAYPAL, money orders, cash and personal checks. However I do prefer using PAYPAL. Projects will not be started until money is cleared on my end. I will notify you of when I start the project and when I think I will be completed.

I can not be responsible for any merchandise or payments lost in the mail, so I recommend delivery confirmation or insurance.

You can make the decision to purchase the model yourself and have it shipped directly to me. If you are doing this, you are responsible for any shipping costs. I will accept models sent directly from retailers, just let me know that you are sending anything out so I know that something is coming my way. E-mail confirmation will be sent to you upon the arrival of the models.

If I am buying the models for you, I will need the full amount of the cost of the model deposited via PAYPAL.

Customer pays ALL shipping and handling costs. This includes shipping costs back to you. That total will be added onto the final bill.

Upon Completion

When your project is completed I will email you with a notice and a .zip file with pictures of the project. Again, this is where you can inform me of any changes you may want done. Once we both agree on completion, the project will get packed with care to ensure safe arrival.

Models are usually bubble wrapped and surrounded by foam peanuts.

As you know, these models sometimes have many small pieces and parts. Sometimes glue doesn’t hold as well as we would like, or the package got knocked around a little too much on the trip, so I can not accept responsibility of damaged merchandise due to postal mishandling. Extreme circumstances can, of course, be worked out. I am very easy to work with when problems arise.

I ship the project back upon confirmation of payment; shipping costs BACK are added on to the final bill.

I can ship any number of ways, but generally I will ship USPS parcel post. I ship multiple times a week, but never later than 3 days after payment has been made.

Shipping insurance and delivery confirmation is OPTIONAL, if you would like one of these options please let me know.

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to email me.
